Transition Instructions
Pets can be sensitive to sudden changes in their diets. For this reason, it is extremely important to follow a gradual transition plan to best support your pet's health and product effectiveness. It is recommended to follow at least a 7-day transition plan before exclusively feeding your pet a new food. Start by mixing 75% of your pet's current diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the current diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the current diet with 75% of the new diet. On Day 7, you can feed your pet the new food exclusively. Ask your Veterinarian about the best way to transition your pet to a new food.

Never been a fan of Hills Science Diet because I had heard it wasn't that great. BUT, I have an allergic dog now. I tried for 3 years to figure out his food allergies, but I finally gave up and my Vet prescribed this for him, along with the canned food and treats. It has been amazing! His skin has never looked so good! Plus, he absolutely loves the food! To me, the canned stuff looks yuck, but he goes crazy over it. lol! So after a couple of months, I will start giving him something, one thing at a time to see just what is causing his food allergies. It's pricy, but I highly recommend it if you have an allergic dog and can't pinpoint just what's causing his problems. Healthy Poop

Ever since my dog Zoe's vet put her on this z/d kibble, all of her digestive issues have cleared up. It was really scary to have her suddenly develop allergies at 18 months old. She no longer had a solid bowel movement and the color was a terrifying abnormal color. Now she is regular and this food also has some side-benefits.... 1/2 the amount of poop to scoop and the poop smells like liver and not normal dog piles. It's pricey .... but well worth the peace of mind. OH... and you can order z/d "dog biscuits" same formula for the times when your pup wants a "cookie" treat reward.

Our sensitive, allergy-plagued, lab-mix Bootsie was always itching skin and ears and getting skinnier from intermittent eating, turning her nose up at so many different and expensive dog foods. Thank heavens we have another poochie that could eat up the extra, almost-full bags of dog food! Then we tried Hill's prescription Skin/Food Sensitivities dry dog food and it was like night and day. She loved it! Alleluia!!! She now practically dances on her hind legs as she waits for her meals to be set down. And Chewy.com is the best deliverer with the very best Customer Service there is around. A live human actually answers the phone every time! Awesomeness!

Didn't Work for Our 2 Dogs but Worth Trying for Yours

We switched to this from Merrick Sweet Potato and Salmon which we suspected was giving our two Lab Mixes skin allergies. They were on it for a month and a half and while their skin allergies did get better (they still chewed paws), their stool was completely irregular the whole time. One never had hard stool and the other was going only once per day. I think this also caused an extreme uptick in water consumption. I will only know once I have them back on a new food. Switching to Zignature Salmon Limited Ingredients for now. Worth a try to see if it works for your pet, Hill's has a 100% money back guarantee.

Our 12 yo Boxer was vomiting and had diarrhea. He was also losing weight. After spending $1500 at the vet, we were told he had chronic inflammatory bowel syndrome. Switch to hydrolyzed protein food (we had been feeding raw) and almost overnight we had our old dog back. We have tried all the hydrolyzed protein foods (due to shortages) and they all work.

I highly recommend the Z/D Skin/Food Sensitivities Dry Dog Food to anyone who's furry baby is struggling with allergies. I have a chihuahua who was suffering with ongoing terrible GI distress associated with food allergies, as well as all the miserable symptoms associated with skin allergies, like constant scratching/licking and biting at his self. After numerous vet visits, and trying various medications and foods; nothing was working to alleviate my poor lil guy's symptoms. He was miserable. My heart hurt to see him suffering. Our vet suggested that I only feed him boiled chicken and rice. But even that made him sick. We tried the I/D Dog food first, which only helped with his tummy upset I highly recommend the Z/D Skin/Food Sensitivities Dry Dog Food to anyone who's furry baby is struggling with allergies. I have a chihuahua who was suffering with ongoing terrible GI distress associated with food allergies, as well as all the miserable symptoms associated with skin allergies, like constant scratching/licking and biting at his self. Excellent for dogs with digestive issues

My dog is cursed with chronic digestive issues and has to be on medication and Hills ZD dog food. I am glad that Hills makes a "Kibble" variety of this food. It must taste delicious because when my dog is off his food and refuses the canned variety, he will eat the kibble. I leave a bowl of it out so he can nibble on it any time of the day. This food can be used as training treats as well. It was out of stock at the Hills company and at my Vet's, so I was relieved and grateful that Chewy had it in stock, Yeah Chewy!

My sweet dog has IBD. She has been doing fine since put on a hydrolyzed protein diet, except she never ate a full meal or enthusiastically. Chewy was out of the usual kibble I fed, but recommended the Hill's diet, took the time to read the ingredients to me. Great customer assistance, as always, and a real commitment to having all the right products. The best part is the girl licks the bowl clean. We both feel good about that.

We are sooooo pleased with this product!! Our rescue dog was sick from day one with a gurgly belly, vomiting and bloody diarrhea. Turns out she has food allergies and Hills ZD has made all the difference. She's finally on the mend and has turned a corner.
